Silver Screen

  As a child I would always dream

  of things that weren't quite real

  like spaceships and goblins and time machines

  and images that could only be seen

  through the magic of that silver screen.

  As I grew older I still could dream

  and I traveled with my mind

  to Casablanca and the Land of Oz

  the places I had never been

  through the gateway of that silver screen.

  Now I watch the children dream

  their eyes wide with awe

  of princes and heroes and dragons

  and magical kingdoms so serene

  through the wonder of that silver screen

  When my years are at an end

  and my dreams are in the past

  of adventure and danger and intrigue

  let me relive them all as they once seemed

  through the power of that silver screen
